As The World Turns...

I confess that our life is a dizzy mess right now but YIKES!!!  I spent a whole week suffering from vertigo like nothing I've ever experienced before!...  See, last Monday we grilled burgers and I made macaroni and cheese and with our current camping lifestyle I took the macaroni outside to drain the water off rather than pouring it down our drain and then having to drain all that later.  I found a nice poison ivy plant nearby and started pouring the previously boiling water on top of it.  Up came this really moldy, musty, earthy smell and I thought "Gee that was dumb!"  I know that people can die from inhaling smoke from burning poison ivy but what about just pouring hot water on it and breathing the steam?  So I moved over and finished pouring the rest out.  Up came the same smell--maybe stronger.  When I went back inside I told DH about what I had done and let him know that if I turned up sick out of the blue--well, there might be something to it.  Lo and behold if I didn't wake up dizzy the next morning.   It just got progressively worse day by day with Friday being the worst.  It was like being on a never ending carnival ride!!  I threw up and was nauseated all the time at the peak.  BLAH!!

I feel terrible for anyone who struggles with vertigo on a regular basis.  I basically lost almost a whole week of my life.  Now I don't know if the macaroni and cheese incident was the real culprit or not since I was feeling very vitamin depleted and upped my vitamin intake (OK...started taking my vitamins again like I should!) and felt relief nearly right away.  Either way, I'm pretty much back to my normal "dizzy" self.  ;-)  The world has stopped spinning for the most part and I can drive again!  Woo Hoo!!  It's the little things in life...

I have no words of wisdom regarding the source of your ailment, but I have spent many miserable moments (hours) feeling as you described. No fun at all, and I usually lose weight during those times.Glad to read you're feeling better now.

Good Grief! And glad hat you're feeling your old self again.

Never had Vertigo myself but one of my good friends has bouts of it and it DOES NOT seem like much fun.
