Happy Mother's Day

OK!! So I have a few minutes left until it's not Mother's Day anymore--so let me say "Happy Mother's Day" to all the moms who visit here before it's too late!! ;-)

We've been working in the garden these past few days. DH worked hard to get the black roll mulch laid in the front garden area. It's a few hours of hard work but it saves so much time later in weeding!! DH wants the front garden area to look nice and neat since it's up by the highway. :-) That's where we have 16 tomatoes and all of our hot and sweet peppers. I'll add in my slicing cucumbers to vine up the tomato cages (after we put them up) and surround the front and sides with flowers in the next week or so. Here's DH working on laying the roll mulch and putting on grass clippings on top...

Here's the finished job...   It'll look much better after everything gets bigger.

Got this picture while I was helping DH with laying the mulch. Pretty cool!
I don't think I've ever seen 2 planes flying this close together before.

Had an answer to prayer this weekend. We have the book "Hatchet" by Gary Paulsen. Or rather we had it. I couldn't find it anywhere and wanted Son #4 to read it. So while shopping yesterday we popped in to our local Goodwill. Naturally I spend most of my time there in the book section. I remembered how I wished I could find my book and said a little silent prayer, "Lord, help me find this book today." I knew the chances were slim to none but if the Lord wanted me to have that book we'd find it.

So I remarked to Daughters #1 and #4, who were with me, that wouldn't it be a miracle to find a "Hatchet" book. We browsed for awhile and I found a few books that I wanted (I ALWAYS do!) and we bought those and left. There's another Goodwill about 15 miles away close to our Sam's Club where I needed to shop at anyway so we stopped at the other Goodwill before heading to Sam's. I browsed the book section and found a few books that I wanted and lo and behold if there wasn't a "Hatchet" book sitting right there on one of the shelves. I yanked it off the shelf with a squeal--scaring the girls, of course.   30 cents later and the book is ours!!

I wasn't shocked or anything. Just so grateful that the Lord would care enough to answer this little prayer. I've never seen one there before--I make a mental note when seeing books there that we already have.  Out of all the books in the world... I know this was no coincidence. :-) Thank you Lord.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!! And now it's not Mother's Day anymore!! :-P
