Freaky Weather and a "Thank You"

Old Man Winter came to call today.  I was SO not expecting him again, thinking he had tucked his tail between his legs and mosey-ed on up north.  Ha!  Nevermind that it was 80 degrees just a few days ago and today we have 3 inches of snow on the ground.  First we had sleet and then heavy snow.  Sometimes the snow flakes were truly miniature snowballs.  I tramped through the snow when we had a little over an inch and took some pictures (click on the pictures for a larger view)...

But the most amazing thing (to me) was the thunder we had mid afternoon.  Just a couple of long, loud booms but I've never experience "thunder-snow" before.  :-) 

Normally if something like this would happen at this time of year I would be worrying over fruit loss and damage.  But what with everything going on, I just kind of felt like "well, that's life, I suppose."  It seems like we have a heavy frost nearly every year anyway. 

I confess that I have fretted over wondering whether my goats new owners have shelter for them and whether they were stranded out in the weather.  But there's not much I can do about any of that.  :-(
