Busy

We've had a busy past month.

Aside from drowning in strawberries, Son #1 bought his first house. It's actually bigger than our own. For just the three of them. Sigh. Thou shalt not covet. :-) Just kidding!! We're really happy for them. I remember when we bought our first house some 23 years ago. It was so exciting. Oh, how I loved that house. It was a special house because it was part of the Mississippi River slough area and was on stilts. We had to boat in and out when the river flooded. It was like a conservation area there. How I miss the place and dream of it often. But that's all another story for another day perhaps.

We also spent many days the past couple of weeks working on our RV so that Son #1's in-laws could rent it from us. Son #1, his sweet wife and her family are headed out west for a trip to visit family and friends. I love going out West--the Southwest in particular. And now that our RV is in good running condition again, maybe we'll get to take a vacation soon!! I'm trying hard not to hurt myself laughing!! It was a nice thought anyway!!

Last week we had a really neat guy come out and shear our 3 Shetland Sheep. Since 2 of them are just not real people friendly, it was quite the chore to catch them. It's all worked out really well though. The little lambs were scared of their mommas and it was a little comical to see them running around hollering for each other and then running away. It didn't take long for them to get it all figured out but it was quite the scene of confusion for a bit.

Also we've added a new family member. She's a little bundle of energy and so hard to take pictures of. Her name is Olivia. She is so sweet and fiesty. She has a brown nose, brown lips, and green eyes. I've never seen a dog with green eyes before. In any case, she is totally adored by all--even my dog disliking DH. There's nothing like a puppy in the house to make you feel like you've bitten off more than you can chew!!

Oh yeah, a handfull can be an understatement sometimes. :-) She is our 3rd Daschund and definitely the "charm". She is just adorible and loving and funny--a real people lover. Our other 2 have been males and quite grumpy. We had Oliver I for about 11 years and Oliver II is about 8 now and looking like a refined old gentleman (don't let appearances deceive you--he's really grouchy). We're hoping to breed him to Olivia later on down the road and have lots of cute little weiners underfoot.

We've been praying for another blessing for years and so far my only "baby" has been Olivia. Good thing she loves being babied. :-)

Blessings!
Kris
