All Aboard!!
This Momma Wolf Spider gives a whole new meaning to "packing the little ones around" wherever she goes!!!
I actually took this picture at night while holding a flashlight and with the flash on. So it doesn't really look like it's dark out. I had been outside with Son #6 and saw this huge dark blob moving across the ground. I had him run get my camera and flashlight so we could get a good picture. This is the first time that I've actually seen for myself a wolf spider with babies on her back. My kids have seen some and when I was just 4 or 5 years old I watched my mom squish one. I never saw the momma spider but watched my mom dance around screaming while baby spiders climbed her leg and fanned out across the floor. So getting to see the momma and her babies was exciting for me. Yes, I'm officially weird. But you already knew that didn't you? :-)

Ah- but this is one of my favorite stories! I've told it to most of my children, if not all of them. Love it. Guess it makes me odd too:-) Great pics!
