Blog Redecorating Time

With these very chilly days (and chillier nights) I think it is safe to say that we have passed from fall into winter.  No signs of the fluffy white stuff yet but I'm hoping we'll see some soon!  So with the change of weather I've decided to update my blog to reflect my feet--wait, I mean the season.  Can you say "COLD"?  :-)

We've half heartedly began decorating for Christmas around the house.  Everyone wishes that we could have a real tree.  There's just something about the smell, look and feel of a real tree that speaks to our family's hearts.  We'll get by, sure.  And I know that in my last post I said that our little tree was 3 feet tall but that was a serious error in my memory!!  It's probably all of 2 feet!!  But the littles had fun decorating it--though they did get out all of the big tree ornaments and "oooohhh" and "aaaahhh" over them sadly.

I just haven't been able to get all of our other decorations out and set all around the house in their usual places.  The bucket is sitting in the middle of the living room still--and I keep telling myself that I'll get to it.  But each day passes and nothing gets done.  There's glass trees to fill with M&Ms and Reeses Peanut Butter Cups (but I can't really have any!!  Boo Hoo!) and happy snowmen waiting to grace our home.  I have some vintage treasures that kind friends donated to us when we lost all of our possessions in a flood that destroyed our home in 1993.  All of it special to our Christmas holidays.

OK!  I've talked myself into it!!  Today is the day!!  Well, we'll see.  :-)

Here's an exciting way to use all of those "big" ornaments that won't fit on your tree this year: take the most weather-worthy of them outside and decorate a live tree near your house! It's the more traditional way tree decorating used to be done! =) Hope this helps extend the true joy and meaning of the season - have fun!
